  • Substitute teacher with wide variety of teaching experiences, serve as lead teacher in k-12 implementing lesson plans developed by teachers that include Social Studies, Science, Math, ELA, Art, Career explorations, P.E., and Computers.
  • Substitute paraprofessional, working to meet academic, and behavioral needs for students will highly diversified backgrounds. This requires flexibility and adaptability to connect with new students effectively with the ability to make quick assessments meeting students where they are.

  • Served as a long-term substitute food service worker in the lunchroom.
  • This was an award winning blue ribbon healthy school lunch program that incorporated locally caught wild fish, a fresh and organic salad bar, and vegetables from our school garden.
  • We had a compost program to recycle food waste for use in our school garden. I took this opportunity to give lessons to students in elementary about the "worm bins" to educate about the importance of nutrient rich soil and environmental health.
  • Long term Librarian in the K-12 library, fulfilling book check out, reshelving and acted as primary librarian for the elementary, middle, and high schools.
  • Built a community profile board in library for high school students to keep up to date with new and existing jobs in the area and economic outlooks.

Company overview: Potluck Seafoods/ Fisherman

  • 2001 was one of the few female halibut fishermen, shrimper, and crabber in a male dominated industry. Strength, perseverance, and determination proved as an asset as I continued to excell in the industry.
  • Shrimp boat owner for eight years and sold prawns off the dock in Juneau, Ak throughout the winter months in extreme weather conditions.
  • Direct marketer independently sold prawns up and down the west coast in places like Pike Street Market Seattle and natural food grocery chains in Washington, Oregon and California.
  • Coordinate float planes and airlines, shipping companies, as well and ground couriers to deliver high quality freshest seafood to high end markets.
  • We now own a family fishing boat and are a part of the salmon, crab, grey cod and halibut fisheries.
  • Main engineer on all my boats and our family boat, doing regular engine maintenance, specifics in hyonotic systems, hydraulics, Nobeltec GPS systems, Navtec autopilot insulations and maintenance and well as all steering systems including Microcommader maintenance and insulation. Marine electrical systems and Helm pumps.
  • Responsible for all coastguard documentation, NOAA regulations, crew, food, cooking duties, as well as gear maintenance on pots, nets, and longline gear.
  • Spent much of my life on the sea and traveled across the Pacific Ocean on and 54 foot steel shrimper "F/V Coronation " to pioneer a Prawn fishery in Guam. Also pioneered prawn fishery in far reaches of the north Alaska in Lituya Bay as well as the southern most tip off the coast of Dall Island and Coronation Island.
  • Currently only fish Halibut IFQ's with my family in the Summer.

  • A strong presence in my children's school as an active volunteer in the classroom and happy to lend a hand wherever needed, wall hangings, grading papers, and doing read aloud.
  • Contributing as an aid in math and reading centers as well as individual reading or math help.
  • Constructed and implemented lesson plans dealing with cultural content, field trips, community garden, and worm bins concerning environmental conservation.
  • Collaborated with Classroom teacher to build a 4-day cross country skiing lesson for the 5th graders. Scaffolding skiing in the classroom to the field outside and onto to a trip into the woods, to effectively teach our whole class to ski with skill and confidence.

  • Started a creative design lego club for kids on Tuesdays for two years and their products filled the library.
  • The library arts and I also collaborated with the Rainforest Festival for several year to create a fairy house design program, for the whole community, (parents working with kids) to build enchanting fairy houses to be on community display. I supplied ceder bark, spruce rounds, shells, and many other natural elements to build with and prepared and engaging workspace with tools.

  • Volunteer to bring hands on fun activities to the students, like using giant bubbles as an expression of art.
  • Bringing in Chicks and service dog to the playground to give students a chance to feel the healing benefits of animal interactions.
  • Cultural lesson to teach children about the fishing by bringing my crab pots and davit it to connect children to their fishing culture by teaching them how to haul pots and tie knots.

  • Owned a cleaning service for 6 years helping elderly woman with cleaning service and house maintenance. Many of these woman have taught me a great deal about life and have become family to me.
  • Own several rental homes and boats that I have successfully rented out over the past 20 years. With homes in Alaska and South Dakota. I am the main property manager and do maintenance for my homes.
  • As a business woman I build upon my investments each year gaining more assets and opportunities to make additional incomes.
