Research

During my tenure from July 2015 to August 2018 at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology in Meerut, I served as a Senior Research Fellow (SRF) within the Bioinformatics Infrastructure Facility (BIF). My responsibilities spanned a DBT-funded project, where I orchestrated the comprehensive handling of NGS data, conducted transcriptome and whole-genome analyses, and integrated bioinformatics with molecular biology techniques. This multifaceted role included DNA/RNA extraction, PCR amplification, cloning, bacterial culture preparation, and cDNA library preparation. Notably, I led a groundbreaking NGS project on the Longan plant, investigating gene expression across various developmental stages. Furthermore, I explored differential gene expression in diverse Indian isolates of virus-infected garlic, identifying threats to garlic productivity. Transitioning to BioMérieux SA in France from September 2018 to September 2021, I assumed the role of a Scientist. Here, I played a pivotal role in developing advanced diagnostic techniques for detecting novel bacterial resistance markers associated with bacterial infections. My responsibilities encompassed the analysis of complex NGS data of viruses and bacteria sourced from clinical samples collected globally. I actively contributed to the creation of innovative diagnostic solutions for bacterial infections, thereby enhancing the company's diagnostic portfolio. Leveraging my expertise in microbiology, I addressed challenges related to the identification of bacterial resistance markers. Subsequently, from September 2018 to April 2022, I embarked on an MSCA-ITN PhD fellowship at Eberhard Karl University of Tübingen in Germany. This comprehensive program, specializing in bioinformatics, culminated in the successful completion of my Ph.D., substantiated by an official certificate received in August 2022. Currently, as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, my primary focus revolves around the analysis of single-cell genomics data (DNA/RNA) using various omics approaches. This work involves variant calling in human tissue-derived samples from aging associated disorders and studying mammalian epigenetic aging through different pipelines that I develop and optimize based on project goals. I took advantage of machine learning tools for variant calling. Simultaneously, fueled by a profound motivation for industrial roles, I am actively seeking an industrial role aligned with my extensive research experience. Eager to contribute to industrial advancements, I remain committed to continuous learning, ensuring adaptability to the ever-evolving landscape of scientific progress.
