
Under the Supervision of Custodian Supervisior II, I manage, oversee, plan, organize, and supervise the janitorial work of Custodian I at CHCF. I was involved in the care, cleaning, and maintenance of office buildings, inmate housing units, and instructed, lead, and/or supervise inmates and/or workers, and did other work duties due to the daily operational needs of CHCF. I performed all subordinate staff duties including but not limited to all Custodian I and Custodian II duties. Maintains tool and key control per the department and institutional procedures. Controls the inventory storage and use of hazardous materials. Hiring staff for overtime and making schedules. training housekeeping staff on the newest cleaning method. Inspections and maintains housekeeping practices and standards of safety and sanitation. providing recommendations for the appointment of qualified applicants. Maintaining a work environment that is free of discrimination and harassment.
Transfer food items between storage and workstation, sort and remove trash and place them in the appropriate designated bins. Responsible for sweeping and mopping kitchen floors, and removing all stacked dishes and hot trays after each service. Wrap sandwiches for lunchtime deliveries and clean fridges and freezers weekly. Dispose of all expired items. Purchasing orders for kitchen supplies, food, and beverages. Kept records for employees' weekly time cards. Supervised the day-to-day operation of the sandwich station and oversee the staff (hiring, training, overseeing staff, and food safety) while providing customer service. Place all necessary ingredients on each workstation according to the cooking or baking needs of each area. Prepare cold and warm salads in accordance with predetermined recipes. Read out food order slips to the cooks. Place completed orders on serving trays for the staff.
Job duties include preparing daily breakfast and lunch for the students. There were around 1500 students who received nutritious meals every day. The job duties include transferring food items from the original package, preparing the food for the day according to the meal plan, training the employees on how to prepare the meal and serve the food items, and also, following the proper technique of transferring the food. The ingredients required for that week were picked up and kept on record accordingly. After preparing the meals, job duties include cleaning the kitchen area, and the food station, and sanitizing all the utensils used for the meals.
