Roles And Responsibilities

  • Provides evaluation of the cardiac/pulmonary inpatient and outpatient needs and implements appropriate programming and plan of care to include exercise prescription, educational plan, risk factor modification and psychosocial intervention.
  • Provides education and support regarding exercise presciption, stress reduction and coping skills based on the patient's personal risk factors and discharge plans.
  • Orientation and assessment of patient's individual need for exercise prescription.
  • Performs exercise leadership through daily monitoring and patient education.
  • Performs exercises with participants and demonstrates correct body positioning and proper use of equipment to prevent injury and adhere to exercise prescription.
  • Effectively collaborates and assists with the development of new wellness programs, initiatives for employees and interns.
  • Coordinates with various departments in the development of community education programs.
  • Timely data collection and entry for The American Association of Cardiovascular Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR) National Registry, providing monthly and quarterly reports to the Research Coordinator.
  • Skillfully assists in the training of Cardiac Rehabilitation staff, students and associated personnel.
