Selected to participate in a service learning trip in San Diego. One of our service projects was with Casa de Oración, a Spanish-speaking church that serves immigrants from Mexico. I organized the children's classrooms. Another service project was with MishMash, which provides meals for Afghan refugees. I prepared items needed for meals. There was a service project with Project New Village; this organization addresses inequities in the local food system through urban farming and community engagement. I spent the day working in their garden.
I used various techniques, including drawings and 3D computer programs to create visual art. I participated in art shows to showcase my work resulting in the sale of several original art pieces.
Worked as a team to provide food distribution for underprivileged villages. We ministered to children in day care centers, orphanages and schools. We earls engaged youth through musical presentations, sports and artistic projects.
