Production Manager/Manufacturing Engineer
- Actively participate in companies lean initiatives, and implement improvements using methods based on the Toyota Production System
- Designing out overburden inconsistently, and the elimination of waste to get the most significant effects on process flow
- Work with product development, suppliers, engineering, Quality and production employees in finding innovative ways to improve quality and productivity of our products
- Prepare departmental costs and variances with regard to productivity, short and long term planning, labor scheduling, product scheduling, raw materials, packaging supplies, housekeeping
- Represented manufacturing in the due diligence and relocation of two product lines
- Part of a team that: set up all parts on Kansan systems to eliminate excess inventory and incorporate first in and first out
- Set up all production cells to a one piece flow system
- Implemented 5S program in all production cells
- Recommended poke yoke (mistake proof] of fixtures and parts to improve quality
- Lead and was part of a team that implemented Karen’s in all of our production cells
- Evaluated and updated all manufacturing procedures to obtain ISO 9000 certification
