  • Operations- Controlled all areas of profit (cash, food, labor, discretionary, sales). Was DM of the year in 2010. Was a top performer in my field for all years in position
  • People - Hired, trained and developed. My group and I developed many managers from within the ranks. I also hired many from external places. I was successful in both areas. I conducted many open interview days over the years when needed. I had a professional but personal relationship with my people. I cared about them. I cared about their performance and success. I listened and was a sounding board countless times but I feel this was my strength above many others. My people knew they could reach out when needed, I was available and able to walk them through their questions, issues or problems. I became better over the years guiding the managers to the answers rather than giving them the answers. This developed more independent thinking and more buy in for the individuals.
  • Training - I had 2 training stores for most of my tenure as a DM. I had a total of 4 different non dedicated trainers I was responsible for. I was heavily involved in their training ensuring we gave the best training we could. I visited multiple times during training, doing travel paths, looking at administrative books, talking with new manager establishing relationship early. I created training classes and supported the training department in conducting training classes in my district as well as the region. I presented many times in the region managers conferences. I helped to create content for meetings.
  • Development - I had responsibility for training ADM's (Walter being one) as well as acquisition DM's over the many years. All RGM positions were filled from within with only 1 exception. Turnover for crew and manager was very low most years.
  • HR - I performed audits timely and accurately. I am aware of the policies and their intent. I worked closely with HR (Ray Lynn and Heather Haberer) over the years doing investigations, auditing and disciplining. Working so closely improved my independence with performing audits but also freed up the HRM's to assist other areas. My record with unemployment cases was good, winning most I had because of consistent disciplines across my district and sufficient paper trails. I take a lot of pride in being timely and efficient. I achieved my deadlines for paperwork requirements regularly. My written skills are good, reviews, audit summaries, administrative requirements. I was part of the bonus checking team for past several years. I had a good understanding of the bonus, was thorough in this job.
