The Emergency Department is a Level 1 pediatric Trauma Center

The Supervisor has the in depth knowledge and ability of each Patient Access function performed within the department and will as needed perform these functions
The above functions are performed in a clinical environment requiring both the Supervisor and the Patient Access care team members to work in tandem with varying levels of clinical staff and clinical leadership
The Supervisor oversees Patient Access care team members working 24/7 and under the oversight of the Patient Access Manager, the Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership, support and direction in the application of the Patient Access standards and principles of continuous improvement
Coach and provide training for staff and direct employees toward established department goals
Conduct interviews, orient, train, counsel, mentor, discipline and evaluate all staff members
The scope of responsibility includes maintaining the processes, data system accuracy and infrastructure that ensures timely payment for services provided or makes alternative financial arrangements, and that patients receive prompt clinical services
The Patient Access Supervisor ensures that the financial goals and objectives based upon the department metrics are achieved monthly for each area of responsibility
