  • Graduated Basic Training 09/05/2024
  • During Basic Training I was taught multiple skills in line with the duties and tasks assigned to Infantrymen, however I also learned how to communicate and work with a team to accomplish common goals in very short time lines
  • Performing under pressure was commonplace
  • During Basic Training I was appointed as Platoon Guide for a multitude of weeks in training
  • Becoming the direct link between leadership in our company and the subordinates (roughly 40 Trainees)
  • I was in charge of relaying information passed down, delegating and assigning responsibilities in accordance to what the tasks demanded and then making sure everything got done in time
  • As well as keeping constant track of attendance, trainees who needed medicine or doctors visits, all important weapons and equipment were accounted for, and ensuring the mood was kept positive despite low sleep or challenges experienced in the field
  • During marksmanship training I was also awarded Top Shot for my company for iron sights with the M4 Carbine
  • Qualified for a Pre-Ranger program after Basic Training (RTLI) that I attended for 6 weeks
  • Purpose of this program was to take high performers in Basic and push them up to the next level to prepare them for the challenges of Ranger School
  • In this program you are working with actual Ranger Instructors who are the pinnacle of leadership in the Army and by leading by example

Race Team Mechanic/Fabricator

  • Duties ranged from vehicle maintenance on our Formula Drift Pro Car, communicating with our spotter or driver or chassis engineer and making changes to the vehicle settings throughout the race weekend
  • Challenges included adjusting to new tracks and making adjustments to the vehicle or driving style to compensate for unforeseen conditions (weather, track conditions, etc)
  • Unloading our equipment from our race rig and setting up in our pit area to ensure a safe and professional work environment (spectators have pit access)
  • Ensuring all safety items for the driver are accounted for and ready to be used while he is strapping in, keeping driver calm and on the right mindset before qualifying and competition was paramount

  • At LZMFG I was a part of a 3 man team in charge of building cars from the ground up in very short time spans, then transporting said vehicles across the country for events safely, then supporting the race team efforts in keeping the vehicles maintained or fixed in order to perform during long race weekends for either fun grassroots events or professional competitions
  • As well as maintaining any vehicles or equipment we had (up to 40+ vehicles all stored and built on property) including to taking care of the property itself as we were building it up (Building out work stations, organizing storage areas to be more ergonomical and keeping inventory, keeping work areas and equipment maintained)
  • Also included a season of Formula Drift as a Race Mechanic with LZMFG
  • Maintaining the vehicle and support vehicles while working as a team to accomplish tasks on time under short time limits and under pressure in competitive environments
