
I have recently departed from the US Navy working as a Gas Turbine Systems Technician for the past 5 years where I have learned lots of valuable skills such as dealing with low-voltage, line voltage and some high voltage equipment, as well as being able to read diagrams and understand technical documents. I am currently looking for an employer that will allow me to work with our military from the outside.
GSEs are responsible for a wide range of technical and maintenance duties, including:
• Operating electric plant main and propulsion control equipment
• Locating circuit failures and replacing faulty components
• Measuring electrical properties such as current, voltage, and resistance
• Testing for shorts, grounds, and continuity in circuits
• Inspecting and testing protective circuitry
• Servicing, testing, and replacing batteries
• Performing preventive maintenance on digital data equipment, control systems, and monitoring circuits
• Measuring insulation resistance
• Repairing electrical and electronic cables, wiring, and connectors
• Maintaining and repairing alarm, indicator, and warning systems
• Servicing gas turbine engines and auxiliary equipment
• Using blueprints, schematics, and technical charts for diagnostics and repairs
• Performing administrative tasks related to gas turbine propulsion system operations and maintenance
• Conducting work area inspections
• Operating standard electrical and diagnostic test equipment
• Shutting down engines and verifying proper system performance
• Replacing and adjusting contacts, microswitches, relay switches, pressure switches, and temperature switches to ensure proper operating tolerance
• Perform service and installation activities associated with store products and services in an accurate and timely manner.
• Assists the Manager with administration, facility and operational functions as assigned.
