Marcus DePeal

My primary responsibility in this role was to service our customers by connecting with the right trucking companies (carriers) to pick up and drop off commodities in an effective, timely manner. In this role, I was able to:

• Broker over $2.2 million in gross profit for the company.
• Develop and implement strategies to increase profit margins.
• Overcome disputes with carriers through interpersonal connections, and intentional enforcement of policy.
• Build lasting relationships with carriers to increase profit margins and success rates on customer scorecards.
• Investigate claims from carriers regarding billing errors, or damaged shipments.
• Collaborate with internal account reps on how to grow each individual account.

• Followed a sales process by dialing a lead queue and responding to online inquiries about home financing information.
• Effectively battled up-front resistance turning uninterested customers into clients.
• Hit and / or exceeded company's numerical expectations on a weekly basis, performing as the top apprentice of my class.
• Built relationships with people over the phone, selling on rapport far more than just number and terms.
• Reviewed credit histories from applicants and determined feasibility of granting requested loans.
• Identified valuable solutions for customers with credit problems.
• Listened carefully to customer complaints and swiftly resolved issues by taking appropriate action.

In this role, I oversaw four (4) college campus ministries in the Midwest region (Indiana Wesleyan University, Ball State University, University of Indianapolis, University of Louisville) along with a young adult ministry at our local church, reaching an average of 180+ young adults. I was able to:

• Co-author a book titled The Foundation and co-create a mentoring program that pairs young adults (ages 18-29) with lay leaders in the church. This can be found at www.awakencampuses.com/thefoundation.
• Create the Awaken Campuses Podcast, averaging around 200 downloads per episode.
• Create multiple semester-long sermon series, both expository and topical depending on the need.
• Preach 25+ times a year to young adult and college communities.
• Provide oversight and leadership development to campus pastors of our ministries.
• Preach 3-4 times a year to our Trinity Church congregation on Sunday mornings.
• Consistently host portions of our Sunday morning gatherings including Scripture readings, communion, benedictions, offerings, announcements, etc.
• Mentor and disciple college students and young adults.
• Collaborate with a staff team for All-Church events.
• Recruit and develop lay volunteers in the church.
