Team leader for 10 years worked there for 12 years
I was a forklift a driver for my first 2 years I learned a lot on how to operate a forklift at a safe and fast pace I then worked my way up to becoming a team leader in quality control my responsibilities as a team lead
Inspect any part of the vehicle that needed a critical operation such as rack and pinion torques were to be made 3 times daily everyday six days a week
Train my inspectors properly and in a timely manner my job was the most critical in the entire plant
GP-12 also critical what this is to make sure anything being GP-12 which means inspected piece by piece marks with a paint marker stamped and documented down on a critical operation GP-12 sheet didn’t matter if did 1000 pieces had to record no excuses
Inspected rack and pinions, axles, door pads, lift gate kits, lift gates, head lights, tail lights, transmissions, quarter panels, and a lot more including very fragile things such as windshields - 1 year supervisor
My daily torques 3 times daily everyday no excuses very critical the things I would torque were operations that would save lives such as axles had to be torqued and record and inspected very carefully cause as you know if a axels flies off it could kill someone so very critical
Input every inspectors time in and out record it a send emails to quality coordinator after every shift about any operation and scan and send anything that was recorded
Team leader for all inventory checks in quality all parts non in compliance or damaged was a must every single shift I was responsible for every single part that was shipped to GM checked inspected and put on inventory list and inventory checks were done once a month I was responsible for my department (quality) for all 6 years I was in that department
Team leader for shipping and receiving for 2 years my job duties in the area were to make sure each truck would arrive and depart every 30 minutes no excuses if any trucks ere late at our fault GM was charged for each minute most times each shift would departure 80 truck a night
Team leader for production 2 years my job duties in this area were more critical hade to make sure I held meetings every single more 6:15 on the dot talk about the previous shift progress and what we were walking into and what had to be done for the day these operations were very critical and had to be out the door every 28-30 minutes if that didn't happen it was possible to shut the plant down and down time I was accountable for it I was held accountable for my people on the floor and my forklift drivers 16 and 16
Receiving tech (clerk) controlled any and every truck that was inbound on my shift
Also being a team leader required being forklift certified i drove a sit down forklift propane and electric very good on a forklift as well
Last but not least I am a very quick learner very quick at any task
FYI a team leader was equivalent to a supervisor in the industry i worked in all jobs and task were the same only difference was team leaders were union and supervisors were none union
