Welder Foreman

GMS Mine Repair

The job we do is pretty much millwright work

We do anything from structural welding to setting in new pumps repairing pumps , we do a lot of repairs and patches in the structures and around the plant sometimes on running equipment or non running equipment, as a lead man I am expected to keep a safe work environment for all my guys and my self. We use equipment such as tali handlers , manlifts , fork lifts etc which I do have my 5023 training on. We weld a lot of floor plate which is pretty long welds and have to ensure that with the plant running and vibrating the welds do not break and hold strong. We do use blueprints which I am able to read
