    request for payment is legitimate or not. If customer wasn't authorized to have service

Responsible for forwarding all invoices certified for payment to Financial Resource Management Service (FRMS) for processing.
  • Knowledge of the review process for special transportation to Veterans requiring
    unusual accommodations, including air ambulance when required, and assuring that transportation is used in the most cost-efficient manner. Reviews all transportation contracts for special mode transports to include transplant patients.
  • Establishes constructive and effective working relationships with the office staff and coordinators of Community Care providers to effectively research appointment start and end dates for veterans travel claim reimbursement.
  • Verify and confirm current medical consults for travel reimbursement approval while utilizing Veteran Health Information and Technology Architecture (VISTA) software.
  • Assist in arranging all modes of transportation via air ambulance, commercial air, taxi,
    ambulance, bus and/or independent transports. Corresponds with physician,
    traveler, social workers or CBOC representative and vendor to determine the most
    dependable and economical mode of transportation. Prepares appropriate
    documentation and/or scheduling for traveler according to government rates or
    substantial rates.
