I worked 36 years as a Surgical Nurse. Specializing in admission of Surgical Patients as well as their recovery and discharge. My areas of expertise were Iv insertion, maintenance. Excelled in all aspects of Med-Surg Nursing, including admission and recovery of invasive radiology patient as well as various interventional cardiac patients. I was know for my speed in admissions, as well as complete accuracy in medication administration and care of surgical patients which hastened their discharge to either rehab facility or home. I also was on occasion given the opportunity for phlebotomy work as well, in which I excelled. I was a team leader, as well as a team participant. Made many friends in my long career, and most of them are still with me.
