  • Interpret payments, correspondence and denials from insurance companies, agencies and other departments
  • Process requests quickly, accurately, and consistently with no supervision
  • Serves as pre-service point of contact for patients to obtain all necessary information to pre-register and financially clear patients prior to day of service delivery.
  • Verifying and process Release of Information form, for Itemized bills and medical records
  • Cross trained with Risk Management
  • Forward any incoming risk review request to risk manager on site
  • Follow-up with status on open risk reviews
  • Make any necessary adjustments at risk manager’s request
  • Assist privacy with misdirected mail
  • Work closely with claims and nurse auditors on risk adjustments
  • Financial Clearance Duties:
  • Pre-register and financially clear patients(verify demographics and contact info)
  • Run estimates using Ecare and Once Source using DRG and CPT codes in Dr’s orders
  • Verify eligibility and benefits
  • Take incoming calls for patients calling to pre-register, updated all necessary information.
