In 2012, I gave birth to twins, one of which was disabled. Emma was diagnosed with partial quadriplegia and CP; Ava, the other twin has ADHD/OD. I have helped with children in Emma's class, that had autism, by helping to redirect, by compromising and making students feel safe and in control. I also had to learn how to take care of Emma while she was at home, since I didn't have an in home care nurse. Learning how to understand and communicate when she was non verbal. Ive taught Teachers and medical staff how to approach her, and calming and distressing techniques.
