Ensures safe and compliant patient care by strategically scheduling and allocating sufficient numbers of qualified nursing professionals ((RNs, LVNs, PSYCH TECHs and CNAs) across all facilities, including yards, mental hospitals, and outpatient housing units. For Example: I make sure that RNs are assigned tasks they are qualified to perform, and other staff are assigned duties within their licensure.

Plays a crucial role in supporting nurses by: Creating schedules with enough qualified staff to handle the patient workload, reducing stress and burnout for nurses. Matching nurses with the appropriate skill sets to the needs of the patients on each shift. Facilitating communication between nurses and unit managers regarding staffing concerns or resource needs. Proactively considering factors like patient acuity levels, upcoming procedures, and potential staff absences when creating schedules.

By ensuring nurses have the support they need, I contribute to a safer and more efficient work environment for both nurses and patients.

In addition to scheduling, provides various administrative tasks to free up nurses' time for direct patient care. This might include: handling tasks like time off requests and license renewals; coordinating communication with external agencies or departments on behalf of nurses. By taking care of these administrative tasks, a nurse scheduler becomes a valuable ally to nurses, allowing them to focus on what they do best - providing quality care to patients.
