  • Serves as the Army Material Management System Technician and subject matter expert responsible for and performing a wide variety of complex assignments, actions and duties associated with records management, report preparation, and supply and maintenance functions like processing requisitions, receiving, issuing and reconciliation of supplies, repair parts, equipment and tools, dispatches, providing updates, status report and conducting inventories, by utilizing a thorough knowledge, experience and understanding of maintenance management and the Army supply system’s procedures, policies, regulations, manuals catalogs, established guidance and automated programs and systems such as the then Standard Army Management Information System (STAMIS) and now the Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-Army).
  • Responsible for, up on request, at the required interval and before the suspense date to generate, submit, track, update and/or provide numerous reports such as the Product Quality Deficiency Reports (PQDR), the ME5A, the Army Material System Status report, and the ZOAREP and YOBUX reports, which is utilized to ensure turn-ins are conducted to match a corresponding issue document.
  • Utilizes GCSS-Army to open and close workorders, change the status of work orders, assigns repair parts to the corresponding workorder and assign tasks to the appropriate work center, update the status of work orders in the employee’s portion of the work order flow process, track supply status on high and low priority workorder parts and monitor workorder requests to determine adjustment of operation to accomplish required work
  • Conducts regular inventories of shop and bench stock supply and ensures that the shop stock inventories are kept on file as required and to maintain an efficient, cost-effective inventory storage level management in accordance with published and Army Regulatory guidance.
  • Track and verify stock numbers, quantities needed, and other pertinent information for inventory or supply requisitions to determine availability and to record prices.
  • Coordinate with outside agencies, depots, item managers and higher headquarters in regard to interchangeable and substitution parts and the source of the supplies and to obtain specific parts, supplies and equipment to expedite receipt of repair parts.
  • Updates GCSS-Army databases to reflect accurate readiness data reporting to higher headquarters.
  • Executes and determine procedures to be taken to acquire materials and/or Class IX repair parts and all transactions involving the turn-in of recoverable, repairable and excess parts to the Logistic Readiness Center.
