  • Worked with John Rex Endowment, Wake Medical Society, and Wake County to build a team from the “ground up” to meet Medicaid enrollment, Medicaid re-enrollment, and Health Check goals outlined in the grant
  • Team consisted of both Wake Medical Society employees and Wake County Human Services employees
  • I set up the first telecommuting team at Wake County
  • Provided monthly reports to show progression toward our goals to the Endowment and to Wake Medical Society
  • Made presentations to the Endowment Board to show progress and confirm sustainability
  • Our grant was successfully renewed after 3 years
  • Set up bonus structure and plan for employees
  • Utilized data analysis to determine best portals for enrollment, methods to improve re-enrollment, and increase compliance rate with Health Check standards
  • Partnered with Wake County Public School system to reach families who might be eligible for Medicaid/NCHC
  • Designed marketing program to market our Public Health Insurance program (Medicaid/NCHC);
  • Brochures went out every year with the free/reduced lunch application to every WCPSS family
  • Accomplished several sustainable outcomes beyond the grant period (ie, WakeMed hired several additional case managers due to an enrollment effort I established in their Pediatric Emergency Department
  • Once the grant ceased payment for these positions, WakeMed began paying for these positions and has continued to do so.

  • Partnered with NC Department of Corrections to reach out to mothers being released from prison and re-united with their children
  • Partnered with Wake Health Services and had employees located in all sites across Wake County to enroll/re-enroll Medicaid/NCHC patients
