Core Responsibilities

Surgery Operations Management:

• Coordinate and manage the surgical schedule.

• Supervise OR, SPD, and endoscopy staff.

Regulatory Compliance:

• Oversee Joint Commission standards compliance by aligning policies with current practices.

Infection Control:

• Monitor facility-related infections.

• Maintain documentation and implement infection control processes.

Radiation Safety Officer:

• Certified to operate X-ray machines.

• Manage dosimetry reports, dosimeter badges, and lead apron compliance.

• Liaise with the physicist to ensure radiation safety standards are upheld.

Biomedical and Equipment Oversight:

• Coordinate Biomed equipment servicing.

• Ensure all surgical and diagnostic equipment meets required standards.

Surgical Case Coordination:

• Maintain communication with surgical reps for upcoming procedures.

• Onboard surgeons and coordinate service lines for specialties including orthopedics, general surgery, gynecology, ENT, colorectal, pain, spine, and GI.

Supply Chain and Materials Management:

• Verify, receive, and manage medical supplies.

• Oversee processes for rotating stock and disposing of expired items.

Pharmacy Oversight:

• Inventory, order, and manage medications.

• Maintain compliance with pharmaceutical regulations.

Quality and Risk Management:

• Support quality improvement initiatives and risk management strategies.

• Record and manage meeting minutes for key discussions and decisions.

• As Supervisor in charge of running the board, service line coordinator for all service lines, oversee 30+ employees, manage schedule for 30+ employees, deal with physician requests, develop new service lines, help onboard new physicians, coordinate instrumentation orders, circulate PRN, scrub PRN, manage preference cards, coordination interdepartmentally, set par levels and create par sheets for carts throughout department, robotics coordinator, oversee intermittent service line coordinators, oversee improvement of quality of department, in charge of audits for department (Safe Site Verification, Hand Hygiene, Journey to Excellence), oversee call schedule, help with management of daily reports from micro-strategies for PTAT for same and flipped rooms Report, FCOT Report, Cancellations

• Service Lines: General, Robotics, Urology, Plastics/Reconstruction, Ortho, Bariatrics, OMF, ENT, Trauma Level III, Colo-Rectal, Endoscopy, Ortho Spine
• Experience with scrubbing basic cases, basics of anesthesia machines, basics in SPD department, basic’s in Preop care
