Work History

Welding / Coating Inspector

System One - Utilities Technologies International
07.2024 - Current

I supervise the work of contractors and subcontractors performing the work for various clients like North Coast Gas Transmission and North East Ohio.

I am responsible for receiving material and ensuring all documentation is in place. If any document packages are missing MTRs, I directly contact the vendor to acquire the required documentation.

I ensure that the contractor is adhering to project specifications, applicable code books and welding procedures.

Responsible for building weld, heat maps and valve maps.

Once all fabrication is completed at the fabrication shops, I oversee and inspect the installation process, including welding, coating, torquing, pressure-testing, civil/concrete etc.

Coating / Utility Inspector

EnSiteUSA
05.2024 - 07.2024

MLS 26-1 / MLS 26-2 Class Change

This project involved taking up and relaying 2,600' of pipe to change the wall thickness on segments of two 26" existing Texas Gas Transmission's lines.

I monitored the contractor's work as they located, exposed, cleared, dug, took up old pipe, coated, holiday tested, relayed, tied in, and backfilled the replacement pipe.

Fireproofing QC

Iberville Insulations
03.2024 - 04.2024

PCI Module Yard

Construction of Modules for Venture Global LNG Plant

I monitored and inspected the work of crews applying Fireproofing Pitt-Char NX and Urethane top coat Pitthane Ultra on block-outs of approximately 32 refinery modules with up to 3 elevations at the Performance Contractors Module Yard.

I also put packages together and performed a final walk-through of the Modules to sell to our final client, Venture Global.

Corrosion Inspector

System One
09.2023 - 02.2024

Mountain Valley Pipeline - Spread H

On this project I was initially assigned to a boring crew.

I was overseeing the work of different coating crews coating 42" mainline and bore pipe with SP-2888 in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia.

Later on I was transferred to a tie-in crew where we were coating up to 3-42" welds a day on different types of factory coated pipe like FBE, ARO, and Powercrete.

This was a challenging project due to the limited time the contractor had to complete tie-ins near wetlands and water bodies, steep mountainous terrain, as well as being able to complete the project with in the timeframes of permits issued by various regulatory agencies.

Another challenge was walking through the steep Blue Ridge Mountains and adhering to many environmental regulations and following them through to the letter on a daily basis all while being under the scrutiny of protestors.

Utility/Coating/Welding Inspector

Applied Consultants Inc.
07.2019 - 05.2020

At this project I started out as a coating inspector on various job sites east of Watford City inspecting the coating of pipe and fittings associated with the joining of flexsteel water lines at well pads.

After a short period of time I was tasked with weld mapping, weld inspection, excavation / back fill, road boring, as well as coating. Stainless and carbon welding is done on a daily basis and makes it necessary to stay on top of procedures used and checking the welders papers for qualification to weld those materials.

Utility/Welding Inspector

Cleveland Integrity Services Inc.
02.2019 - 04.2019

For this project I relocated from Sulphur, Louisiana to Freeport Texas to work for the same client - Boardwalk Lousiana Midstream.

I was in charge of inspecting the clients contractor and subcontractors while they were hydro-vacing in order to locate conduit and other material for future construction. I was layed off for a month and then was requested to come back and monitor torqueing, leak test, and hydro test. I was also in control of NDE (x-ray) on night shifts as well.

Utility / Coating / Welding Inspector

Cleveland Integrity Services Inc.
10.2018 - 02.2019

This project consisted of building an ethane and ethylene process and storage facility for Boardwalk Louisiana Midstream.

I was a field inspector in charge of the whole site, meaning different crews and different contractors at the same time, including coating, high heat coating, welding and fitting, x-ray, fencing, grading, concrete, and insulation.

Receiving material and checking MTR’s was part of my duties as well as working in document control auditing boxes on Sundays or when the contractor was not on site.

It is worth mentioning that less than half a mile away from this terminal, there were 2 well sites that I was having to manage and inspect as contractors came and went at the same time.

Utility Inspector

Houston Inspection And Field Services
12.2017 - 08.2018

Howard Energy (Nueva Era Pipeline+ 2 Meter Stations)

This job consisted of a 248km long mainline from Laredo, Texas to Monterrey, Nuevo Leon Mexico, a 39km lateral, and 2 meter stations.

I relocated to Mexico for this position.

I worked at all 4 locations during the 8 months I was on this project. It was common for me to have multiple crews at the same time working spread out over 20 miles or more.

I worked on the following crews at different times over the course of the job: clearing/grading, road bore, ditching, lowering in, tie-in, backfill, and coating.

When all 40+ inspectors were laid off because the pipeline project was coming to an end I was asked by one of the Chiefs to come and assist them to complete the meter station projects.

I monitored work performed inside Noreste as well as Huinala meter station. My main focus at the end of the job was coating inspection and helping the Chief inspector audit the job box for turnover to Howard energy.

Field Inspector

Tessellated Inspection and Consulting Services
07.2016 - 07.2017

I worked on various projects in different locations and went through almost all phases of the projects from start to finish. My responsibilities included overseeing the tie-in crews, coating crews, and monitoring clearing, digging, and backfill.

Coating / Welding Inspector

Renegade
08.2015 - 02.2016

I was assigned to inspect welding and coating over a large area laying pipe ranging in diameter from 16” to 4”. This was possible by inspecting the welds as we reached them with the coating crew. At times another welding inspector was available in the area and helped with the welding inspection before I arrived with the coating crew. Periodically I was assigned to trenching, backfill, and lowering in operations as well.

Pipeline Inspector

PEMEX
03.2014 - 08.2015

I was a fire watch for the first two months until a coating inspector position became available. I spoke to the engineer about the job, and I was given the opportunity to become the inspector following behind the pipe gang and firing line with a coating crew. This was a 42” natural gas mainline that ran through steep mountains, rural areas, and also densely populated flat lands. I was initially assigned to a boring crew, where my responsibilities included welding and coating. As this project progressed, I was sometimes assigned to the fabrication of valve sets, and eventually moved to monitoring a coating crew.
