Following the success of her first season as Acting Artistic Director she became the Ad of New Jersey Ballet in 2022. Transforming New Jersey Ballet with new branding, exciting repertory, recruiting new talent, Maria has put this company on the map. Since her dynamic leadership New Jersey Ballet has become the resident ballet company at the Mayo Performing Arts Center guaranteeing the company performances throughout the year. Under her leadership Ms. Kowroski has restaged many of the company's existing classics including The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty and Don Quixote. She conceptionalized a children's ballet titled Once Upon a Time to introduce ballet to young people and get them excited about the arts. With an extremely limited budget New Jersey Ballet has been fortunate to acquire ballets by the following choreographers George Balanchine, Jerome Robbins, Twyla Tharp, Justin Peck and Christoper Wheeldon. For the first time in New Jersey Ballet history the company has had 3 years of sold out Nutcracker performances and attendance for all of our repertory performances has significantly increased.
