  • I worked in the Apache LAPARR Shop in the Mesa AZ 543 building.

My duty was :

Repair of Apache Longbow Parts that was removed for the aircraft.

  • Work duties:

Perform lay-ups.

Composite Assemblies and sub-assemblies repair.

Drilling, trimming and hold filling of composite parts.

Drilling and riveting of sheet metal parts.

Tooling Knowledge:

Torque wrench, pneumatic, drill motors, Die grinders, grummet bonding tools and all hand sheet metal hand tools.

Assembles and installs component into subassemblies. Identifies nonconforming parts and manufacturing processes which cause nonconformance.

  • Major Responsibilities

Follows manufacturing planning, blueprints process specifications, and written and oral instructions to assemble and modify aircraft subassemblies and assemblies.

Uses hand tools and electrical, and pneumatic equipment to perform subassembly operations.

Performs visual inspections and hand-measures assemblies and component parts for nonconformance; reports discrepancies to quality personnel or manufacturing supervision.

Stamps work completion and quality control documentation for subassembly accountability.

Reports job status and restraints to coworkers and supervision; identifies production inefficiencies and suggests potential improvements to product or process.

Maintains work area free of foreign debris, and observes all related safety procedures; reports unsafe conditions to safety officials or manufacturing supervision.

  • Perform all tasks associated with Wire Harness Fabrication in accordance with the production schedule and military specifications. While maintaining a high level of first time quality in a cost effective manner.
  • Perform rework as required to correct functional errors as needed. Also understand the need to utilize value stream maps, production Visual schedule, Surgeon Wheel, and Kan Ban pull system to help improve our production needs to meet schedule and reduce our team cycle time.
