Overall Responsibilities

  • As CA, serves as an expert for health system and works collaboratively with all levels of nursing, interdisciplinary teams and executive staff.
  • Oversees the allocation of resources across the system and facilitates patients and flow through WakeMed facilities and ensures maintenance of quality nursing measure in accordance with the standard of nursing care.
  • Supervises, coordinates, assigns, and educates using clinical expertise to ensure quality patient care and outcomes.
  • Collaborates and involves nurses and interprofessional team in accordance with the 'Plan for Providing Nursing practice,' the nursing strategic plan, and organization’s aspirational goals.
  • Facilitates and supports nursing education and staff development with embrace of adult learning principles.
  • Ensures a professional practice environment inclusive of BSN and certification advancement.
  • Responsible to Unit Manager for maintenance of unit operations, assignments and administrative activities.

  • Facilitates and leads patient flow and throughput efforts to ensure patient care is delivered based on physician order and patient care needs.
