40 hour advocacy training
This 40-hour training is designed to increase understanding of the ways in which domestic violence (DV) and sexual assault (SA) impact our world, our communities, and our personal lives. The course is facilitated by the Alaska Network on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault, a statewide DV/SA coalition. Topics include an overview of DV and SA, the impact of DV on children, trauma informed care, mandated reporting of child and vulnerable adult abuse, confidentiality, protective orders, safety planning, historical trauma, crisis and suicide intervention, and vicarious trauma.
