In 2024, Ms. Lum was co-coordinator with conservation-minded professionals from a diversity of community members, private, educators, and public entities to co-host the Northern San Jacinto Valley: Fostering Alliances Symposium. To continue with the momentum created after the Symposium, Ms. Lum applied for and was awarded a 2025 Land Trust Alliance Working Lands Capacity Grant to search, map, and rank undeveloped parcels in the north San Jacinto Valley region for suitability and availability for conservation acquisition or easements. Other milestones led by Ms. Lum included RLC becoming a member of the Yuma Marine Base REPI Program, Assisting The Conservation Fund with CA Wildlife Conservation Board grant award for RLC to acquire over 40 acres of property in southern Orange County. Assisting Trust for Public Lands with farmland conservation easement in Imperial County, currently recorded with Oswit Land Trust, funded by CA Sustainable Agricultural Land Conservation Program. Partnered with World Be Well to apply for SALC pre-application to acquire a 45-acre farm in-lieu of development and to support the family operators to stay on the land in the historical Victoria Avenue Greenbelt located in City of Riverside, Riverside County. Previously, as an environmental consultant, Ms. Lum managed over 400 projects for private and public entity contracts over $1,000,000 in revenue over the past 20 years as a consultant included scoping tasks and budget, coordinating staff assignments, completing technical studies and preparing environmental reports, submitting requests for agency authorizations, liaison for client to agency communications, providing solutions and options to avoid or mitigate for impacts to biological resources, focused surveys of protected species, and tracking billing and approving invoicing.
