I work remotely with a 6-member team to process payroll for approximately 4,200 employees across the 13 state prisons in Minnesota. This role involves ensuring compliance with union regulations by verifying staff are using authorized payroll codes, as well as coordinating with various departments to guarantee accurate paychecks. Additionally, I independently process business expenses for all 13 state prisons, verifying compliance with union contracts and DOC regulations. Expenses can vary in amount depending on the time of year, but on average I process 150 - 200 expenses each pay period.
I was promoted because I took on the additional responsibilities of training new employees within the relationship banking department.
I perform a variety of tasks daily including working on the teller line, answering incoming calls, watching balancing reports, and working with both personal and business customers to help them with their financial needs. This includes tasks like opening new checking, savings or Certificate of Deposit accounts. It may also include assisting customers wishing to access online banking or working through reconciling their check book with them. I pull a variety of balancing reports throughout the week to ensure all drawers are in balance with our core. My job involves handling confidential information and almost every task performed is customer service minded.
