My name is Maria Osorio, I am a Child Developmental Specialist in New Jersey Early Intervention and I have a Master Degree in Neuropsychology in Education certified by WES. I am a friendly, emphatic and collaborative person willing to work as a team with families and other specialists on helping children to achieve their age-appropriate growth goals. I also have solid background and experience in implementing targeted intervention strategies; adept at guiding children through personalized plans to achieve behavioral, cognitive and communicative goals to foster positive outcomes.
My passion in my field of work has led me to constantly seek new knowledge, strategies, styles, and other models that I can apply individually or in combination, according to each child's needs. For this reason, I not only have experience in play-based skills but also know how to implement curricula and ABA strategies. I am also proficient in recording data, both manually and on online platforms such as Rethink. I have been trained by various Early Intervention agencies to follow curricula, apply strategies, and record data. I am always available and open to learning in order to improve my skills and help children successfully achieve their goals. do not only have experience in play-based skills but also know how to implement curriculum and ABA strategies. I also support families by teaching them and helping them implement strategies that will assist them in their daily lives with their children, as well as helping them understand their children and gain confidence in their own parenting strategies, since they are the ones who know their children best and spend the most time with them. I maintain close, respectful, and empathetic communication with the parents, respecting their rights and fulfilling my duties as a professional in my field. I keep them informed of their children's progress and the areas that need further attention. I consider myself an empathetic, innovative person, willing to help, and open to learning and suggestions that will motivate me to be better every day as a professional and to be of assistance to the families and children I work with, as well as to the companies that employ me.
