Maria Jose Romero Coy

• Contributed in the production of the 2022 remake of Roadhouse taking place in the Dominican Republic along with Pinewoods Dominican Republic Studios as an intern/Set PA in the Assistant Directors department.

• Created short film Nails in the span of 30 days, from pre-production to post-production at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy college. Collaborated with peers in all areas of the short (screenwriting, direction, cinematography, set design, etc), but focused mainly on creating the visual look of the film: building the shot list and setting the lighting

• Worked closely alongside the Producer from the 1st unit to manage and oversee the film's 2nd unit production process, from development to post-production. Carried out direct communication with crew and cast sending out schedules, contracts, and food plans. Was present on set to push timelines and problem solve when issues rose.

• Wrote, produced, and starred in 2 original scenes called Are you happy? and Everything for the People in the span of 3 months.
• Coordinated filming location, costumes, set design, and casting for each scene.

• Participated in the production of the documentary "1998" as 2nd/3rd Camera Assistant. I completed a variety of tasks: making camera reports, setting up the camera, moving and storing camera equipment and gear, ordering film stock/gear with different suppliers, changing and charging batteries, operating the clapper board, etc.
• Worked with a RED professional camera and accessories

• Student Ambassador: participated in over 10 campus tours, open house, and admitted students day events, and acted as college representative in AMDA’s student app, zee mee, engaging with prospective students and sharing student life for 2-3 hours per week.
• Camera Assistant: filmed student showcases, class projects, student short films, and student narrative scenes.

- Did sound mixing, booming, and gaffing.

- Uploaded footage to the hard drive and to Vimeo links for teachers and students' accessibility.

- Converted disk footage into digital footage, stored and organized camera equipment, and helped staff/students with IT.

• Operated the camera in two original scenes, working handheld, on a shoulder mount, with an easy rig, and on sticks. Pulled focus manually.
• Also worked as 1st Camera Assistant for a shoot day pulling focus with a Nucleus Wireless Focus Puller

• Assisted staff with reception duties, data entry, basic bookkeeping and special projects, compiling data, preparing newsletters and correspondence, and worked in Open House/Admitted Students events.

• Participated in the production of Quala Dominicana’s tv commercial of gastronomic product Criollito, as an 1st Assistant Director, in the midst of my internship in Panamericana Films RD.

• Worked in Panamericana Films for a month, Mondays to Fridays, and passed through all departments gaining hands-on knowledge by participating in the pre, during, and post production of commercials and films in the Dominican Republic.

• Led 30 min tours from 1 to 25 people around the Reverso Pop Up event in Hudson Yards for 10 days, delving customers into the world of a luxurious watchmaking maison whilst involving them in interactive activities to better understand the craft of watchmaking.
• Worked as a docent in different stations of the event.

• Assisted organizing and setting up two day conference event in Journey Clinical by set dressing conference spaces to be filmed, guided participants in conference, helped to set up AV equipment, helped set up catering in bar station. and ensured the event ran smoothly.

• Worked with Curated Care both as an assistant and lead teacher of after school classes in different private schools around NYC with children from Pre-K to 4th grade. I taught and assisted different subjects such as drama, arts & crafts, science, and history.

• Assisted in the commercial shoot for a food product alongside Panamericana films.
• Involved with all departments.
