Summary

Seasoned Library Media Specialist, I have been working at Dr. Carreon academy for the last 17 years so I am familiar with successful strategies for building relationships with students from all socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.

Flexible and friendly team player with encouraging and motivational approach.

I am a Librarian successful at overseeing the entire catalog, as well as all equipment and additional materials, to support teachers and students.

Organized Library Media Specialist, specializing in multimedia equipment and materials management.

Resourceful, focused and dedicated to teaching. Talented, driven to collaborate with educators and students to encourage learning. Familiar with library and classroom practices.

Meticulous Library Media Specialist motivated to improve student learning with multimedia resources.

My passion is to encourage students and staff to love reading. I created a small library inside the staff lounge of the school for the staff to take books home and bring books from home to share with the staff members. I have been to CABE which was an amazing experience and learned so many things that helped me connect to the students more. In there I took a class on diversifying the library collection to include a more wide worldwide point of view through our library collection.

I also had the opportunity to go to an AVID weekend in San Diego which improve my AVID strategies,to help for the implementation of this program schoolwide.

In my view the relationships that we can build with students impact directly their encouragement to improve their learning and their love of reading.

I really think the library should be a the heart of the school.
