As a recent graduate with a degree in Microbiology, I bring a strong foundation in the intricacies of microbial life and a passion for contributing to the field of medicine. Over three semesters as a Research Assistant in an environmental microbiology lab, I developed valuable laboratory skills and a keen understanding of experimental design. My academic journey has cultivated a deep appreciation for the complexities of microbial systems and their implications for human health.
Beyond academia, I am dedicated to community service, actively volunteering and leveraging my skills to make a positive impact. My commitment extends to my church community, where my passion for Byzantine chanting aligns with my pursuit of spiritual and intellectual growth.
Now seeking admission to medical school, I am eager to merge my academic background, research experience, and commitment to service. I am confident that my unique blend of scientific curiosity, dedication to community, and enthusiasm for continuous learning will make a meaningful contribution to the medical field

Dr. Babu Fathepure Environmental Microbiology Lab – Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, OK
Collaborate with two PhD students in an environmental microbiology lab, contributing to the execution of experiments and research on bacteria with potential applications in environmental remediation. Engaged in a project investigating the biodegradation of petroleum hydrocarbons in the presence of heavy metals by the halophile Modicisalibacter sp. strain Wilcox, isolated from produced water. Additionally, actively participate in research involving an unidentified mixed culture sourced from Zodletone Spring in Caddo County, Oklahoma, with a primary focus on assessing its methane oxidizing capabilities.
