• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients on a 30 bed cardiac-renal unit.
• Coordinate care with physicians and other clinical staff to prepare for treatments and procedures. Carry out interventions and deliver comprehensive services.

• Administer oral, intramuscular and IV medications to patients and monitor responses. Care for patients on various cardiac drips
• Advocate for patients and their family members and help them make informed decisions regarding their health and treatment options.
• As a charge nurse (clinical unit leader) oversee daily activities and continuous development of the staff on the unit. Serve as an educational resource to other nurses. Responsible for unit staffing and nursing assignments.

Cardiac-Renal Unit involvement

• As a nursing/capstone preceptor train and mentor new RNs and nursing students on best practices, hospital policies and standards of care.
• Involved in unit base committee that meets once a month to discuss and address any unit issues or changes in practice.

• Coordinated patient care needs with the healthcare team in a 30 bed oncology unit and delivered compassionate assistance with activities of daily living.
• Improved patient care, safety and compliance by partnering with nurses.
• Responded promptly to patient call lights to provide physical and emotional support.
• Supported nurses in daily patient care activities by taking vital signs, documenting patient observations, collecting specimens and discontinuing foleys and IV catheters.
