responsible for the inspection of product, packaging, and environment to assure the safety and quality of the product. This reported to the Quality Food Safety Supervisor and Quality Food Safety Manager.
· Check the production order for customer and verify cut size and quality requirements.
· Verify product labels, coding, and pallet tag information to ensure all required information is correct. Print the first label off ink jet printer and verify it is correct.
· Must complete a pre-op inspection before the start of a shift. Complete associated paperwork and notify the proper personnel if the inspection is not up to standards.
· Perform hourly check weighs of boxes if product is in cartons.
· Check the grade of product and record quality testing as required by customer.
· Observe and report GMP, Quality, and/or Food Safety Issues.
· Cross train to perform processing quality tests – blancher monitoring, metal detector verification, water and product sampling.
· Must calibrate all scales and thermometers at the start of shift.
· Must complete corrective actions when a deviation occurs.
· At the end of the shift, make sure all records are complete and turned in to the lab.
· Check work orders in the lab and print tickets accordingly.
· Communicate effectively with Quality to ensure proper disposition of product.
· Close totes, affix finish tickets onto totes and/or pallets.
· Record weights of totes and/or pallets.
· Perform temperature checks on every tote and/or pallet and document accordingly.
· Print first label off ink jet printer and verify it is correct.
· Aid in monitoring GMPs in the IQF area.
· Fill out all necessary paperwork with accurate and honest information.
· Other tasks assigned as needed.
