Currently perform the role of an OR circulator in a very busy trauma center. Duties are consistent with that as described in my previous position.

• Ensures care of patient through proper identification, checking of chart, and reporting of changes in condition.
• Assists scrub tech as necessary.
• Positions patient, prepares operative area, and adjusts table to proper position according to standard policies.
• Has all supplies and equipment in room and provides to team as necessary.
• Supervised the OR when supervisor was out.
• Organized and scheduled surgeries as needed.
• Specialty areas include eye surgeries, plastic surgery, neuro surgery, and vascular surgeries. General surgeries and orthopedic surgeries.

• My daily job duties in Wound Care as acting director included documenting, monitoring, assessing, and maintaining regulatory reporting
• Pre-op including pre-op orders, assessments, verification that all labs, meds, consents, and paperwork are prepared and ready for OR
• In OR, assist surgeon, scrub tech, anesthesiology, and document
• PACU requires 1:1 monitoring post recovery
• Duties include precise documentation, monitoring, and assessments for post-op patients
• Managing any complications by maintaining effective communication with the surgeon as needed
• Prevention and educated anticipation for possible complications for the best patient outcome is key
• ICU and Supervisor as described below.

• Care of the inmate population, including assessments for detox and other ailments
• Medication administration and observation
• Documentation and recommendations for physician assessments.

• My daily job duties in Infection Prevention including daily chart audits, assessment of patient bed selection, investigations of situations, monthly reporting to NHSN, educating staff, assisting with procedures as required, policy and procedure development and updates, RCA's for HAI's, process evaluation, system failures and fixes, attend meetings as necessary, ensuring state regulations are being followed and creating a plan of correction for fall-outs

• Critical Care experience in a 26 bed ICU
• Mgmt of patients with multi-system failure
• Rapid response and code blue
• Knowledge of life sustaining medications and interventions
• Charge nurse duties include, but not limited to, interventions in family matters, chart auditing, and JACHO regulations
• Motivate, educate, and discipline staff as necessary
• Assign staff as appropriate, depending on skill levels.

• Supervision of entire building, patients, and staff
• Scheduling staff and managing call-ins

• Staffing according to acuity and census
• Monitoring documentation and education, as well as critical situations requiring emergent transfers to ICU and vice versa

• Staff Nurse-Acute care focusing on ventilator weaning and wound care in highly compromised patients
• Progressive learning experience including ventilators, wound vacs, drips, tele monitoring, peritoneal and hemodialysis
• Chest tubes and code experience.

• Assigning patients appropriately among all nursing disciplines, orientation of new employees and quality assurance
• Staff Nurse- Medical mgmt of patients with closed head injuries, many requiring acute care and intense behavior modification
• I primarily worked with MVA's, attempted suicides, and freak accidents

• Perform ADL's while utilizing behavior treatment programs, working to increase the quality of life for MR, and dually diagnosed residents according to specific needs, chronically ill, violent, physical and verbal behaviors, blindness, PICA, ect...
• I also worked PRN as an RN after graduating nursing school from 1996-1997.

Pre-Op interviews including pre-surgery review of needed clearances, labs, and medication management, as well as insurance verification and contacting surgeon and anesthesiologist with any clear concern. Day surgery review of complete required documentation, as well as thorough assessment of patient pre and post op. Educating both patient and family pre OR and post-op using teach back method. Determining that discharge criteria is met for a safe discharge. Both positions require IV insertion.
