Over the years I have been able to become well-rounded by doing a lot of volunteer work with both college softball and church related events. By being involved in the church I have been able to develop many skills. My church and do volunteer soup nights, Christmas caroling, visiting elders in the community who cannot go out, yard work, and ministry work. Being a collegiate student athlete also allows me to hone in on my leadership skills. I am a captain for my softball team which forces me to get out of my comfort zone and make decision. My team and I also participate in reading, assisting, and speaking with younger children in our community. We do this so kids will be able to see that dreams of becoming a collegiate athlete is possible and it gives them a role model.
