White Water Canoe Guide

  • We mainly guided boy scouts/ youth groups through the Snake River waters.
  • We would conduct un-swamping when they would fall out of their canoe. We would teach the proper way to get back in the canoe (before hand).
  • We also went through Swift Water Training prior to the season to receive our Swift Water Certification along with our 3 year WFR Certification.

  • Guided Boy Scouts down the Snake river in aluminum canoes.
  • We had to direct and un-swamp many scouts from the water and debris/obstacles along the river.
  • We encountered many rapids, and had to teach them how to transfer from sitting to their knees to keep themselves more stable in the canoe.
  • We also had to teach them how to get back into a canoe after we un-swamp it from all the water when they go overboard.
  • I had to take swift water rescue courses and get a 3 year wilderness first aid certificate.
