Vocal Rush is a two-time national champion a capella group based out of Oakland, CA. After passing through multiple rounds of auditions, I was a member of the group for about 2+ years developing a sophisticated understanding of vocal music and performance by the age of 17. I was assistant music director August 2019-June 2020.

As a member of Vocal Rush we had opportunities to do the following:

• Performed in venues such as Carnegie Hall, Oakland Fox Theater, Oakland Paramount Theater, London Acapella Festival, Yoshi's Oakland
• Collaborated with artists such as Ben Harper, Michael Franti, and Delta Rae
• Featured on our EP "We are the Ones", lead vocals on track titled "Phenomenal Woman" and featured in single titled "Americans"
• Design single cover art for our single "Americans"

As Assistant Music Director I:

• Leading group rehearsals in the absence of the primary director
• Manage rehearsals outside school hours
• Communicate with band members via Slack
• Administer count-offs and conduct during live performances
• Lead by example by showing up to rehearsals on time and prepared
