Marilyn Figueroa

East Providence,RI

Summary

I am a genuinely kind and calm person, possessing a big heart and a warm smile, often perceived as overly friendly and sociable. I take pleasure in helping others, yet I also cherish my alone time to recharge and reset. Since I naturally attract various energies, it can become overwhelming, leading me to seek solitude. I can be quite loud, yet I also have a timid side; however, people tend to be drawn to me like glue because of my warmth, tranquility, and healing presence. I consider myself a grounded individual, always ready to go the extra mile for the people I cherish the most.

Work History

Lead Community Health Worker

Neighborhood Health Plan of RI
10.2016 - Current

  • Experienced hair loss.
  • Maintaining my peace and composure so I don't go off on the leadership.
  • I'm used to being talked about.
  • I'm used to high-level people taking credit for my work or projects.
  • Challenging the grip of unrealistic expectations.
  • Monitored and reported on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to failure analysis and resolution efficiency.

  • How I overcame this situation was pretty straightforward for me. I really value my peace, joy, and happiness, and I refuse to let anyone steal my joy. I just stay cool, calm, and collected.

Dietary Aide

Heaven Health Center
10.2000 - 02.2007
  • I've had first-hand experience with tuberculosis.
  • Lifting and carrying food supplies that are too heavy for me to handle safely.
  • Experienced firsthand what it's like when residents didn't have any family members who could visit them.
  • It's heartbreaking to witness residents going days without seeing their families.

Certified Nursing Assistant

Lifespan: Rhode Island Hospital
01.1980 - 10.1986
  • Physical demanding.
  • I ended up hurting my back again today after helping a heavyset member.
  • Assisted patients with daily living activities for enhanced comfort and wellbeing.
  • Repetitive route and tasks.
  • High employee turnover.
  • Mentally and emotional draining.
  • Exposure to injuries/illness.
  • Challenging interactions.
  • Emotional attachment.

  • What I took away from this experience is that some medical staff at certain places don't really provide the help they ought to. Then there's the RN who hands you their tasks while they getting the big bucks. I quickly realized I felt like I was being taken advantage of, so I chose not to continue my nursing education.
