Marilyn Chen is a Bachelor of Fine Arts candidate of the prestigious Contemporary Dance department at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee with a Specialization in Dance Composition/Choreography and an English Minor in Literature. She is a classically trained American dancer and an internationally award-winning soloist. In addition to being a dance educator, choreographer, and movement artist, she is a certified dance competition adjudicator with the Professional Adjudicators Alliance and Prism Dance Adjudicators. As a judge, she has extensive experience with dance competitions and has also worked as a backstage manager, event host, runner, and at the merchandise table. Marilyn has trained in classical Chinese dance, Chinese folk dance, contemporary, modern, hip hop, ballet, jazz, tap, acro, and theater dance styles, but she specializes in contemporary dance and classical modern dance. As an educator, Marilyn excels at applying contemporary dance techniques to supplement traditional Chinese dance instruction. As an adjudicator with experience in various concert, commercial, and traditional styles both 'Eastern' and 'Western, she also offers her unique experience as a judge with deep expertise in East Asian and traditional dance styles.
