I am relaxed but also a highly motivated person who wants to make the next step in my career. When searching for a job, the most important factors for me are working with people and the opportunity to learn new skills, which is why I see myself in the tourism sector. Through my education and work at various tourist locations that attracted different visitors, as well as growing up in a household where my family rents out apartments during the season, I have gained significant experience in approaching and communicating with diverse profiles of people. I have also learned how to perform various tourist activities in different types of tourism.
As part of the Work and Travel program, I worked on maintaining golf courses in Alaska this summer. I consider this experience to have been extremely beneficial for my personal development, as I undertook this adventure independently, moving to a completely new culture and environment. Working in an international setting allowed me to further develop my English language skills, become acquainted with American culture and other cultures, gain experience with tools and machinery, and learn about sports tourism.
As a second job during my stay in America, I worked as a kitchen assistant with the same employer at the golf courses. This job introduced me to the basic tasks involved in kitchen work, but most importantly, it pushed me to my limits as it was the first time in my life that I worked two jobs and maintained a demanding and strong work ethic.
In my previous seasonal job as a receptionist, my primary responsibilities included contact and communication with guests. I was responsible for check-ins and check-outs, escorting guests to their accommodations, and providing all necessary information. Additionally, I handled emails and inquiries related to reservations, promoted and sold additional services within the resort such as club tickets, party boat tickets, and vouchers for water sports. During night shifts, I reconciled daily accounts and prepared the reception for the next day.
I worked as a receptionist at a campground in Krvavica for four tourist seasons. My responsibilities included check-ins and check-outs, parking campers in designated spots, selling external services such as rafting and kayaking, providing all necessary information to guests, and assisting with other maintenance tasks around the campground as needed.
