GIS student skilled in ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, Adobe Illustrator, and Python, I aim to apply my spatial analysis knowledge to support environmental and public health initiatives. Focused on climate change mitigation, I'm eager to contribute to projects that help ecosystems and humanity adapt, while seeking opportunities for professional growth in environmental research.
I coached interns age 12- 16 on sustainability advocacy and clean transportation, improving their organizational skills. I trained them to present climate data engagingly, both offline and online. Innovative recruitment strategies for the Climate Corps internship were devised, alongside orchestrating significant events in partnership with Santa Monica and local non-profits. Additionally, I supervised our social media outreach and led interns to Al Gore's Climate Reality Training, enhancing our climate advocacy efforts.
I advised Santa Monica businesses on aligning with citywide sustainability regulations, exploring clean transportation technologies to recommend to various stakeholders. I conducted presentations on minimizing carbon footprints through eco-friendly transport solutions. Additionally, I curated and managed content for GoSaMo TMO's social media platforms. I established connections with transportation experts, local community groups, and marketing allies, and kept a detailed record of outreach efforts in the organization's database to monitor progress towards our foundational goals.
I supported administrative operations, managed communications, and maintained office logistics. I led educational tours about LEED certification and contributed to sustainability project reviews. In collaboration with my team, I ensured project success and deadline compliance. Furthermore, I was in charge of organizing staff holiday parties, which included managing venues, budgets, guest lists, catering, and event schedules.
I carried out surveys for the City of Santa Monica, gathering public input on transit preferences to inform the development of an improved LA public transportation system. Additionally, I spearheaded initiatives focused on climate change and sustainability, and enhanced program visibility by presenting to local environmental nonprofits. I also supported the organization and implementation of local events aimed at encouraging sustainable habits within the community.
I guided a sustainability workshop that brought 15-25 Santa Monica College students together once a week for 8 sessions to explore issues and solutions related to key sustainability-related topics. My responsibilities included documenting training activities and modifications to evaluate the program's impact. I organized and led educational excursions to recycling centers and composting sites, utilizing simulations and group discussions to boost engagement in our training programs. To identify training needs, I conducted surveys, interviews, and focus groups with participants.
