My duties at Mission Creek Corrections Center for Women (MCCCW) include helping facility staff in other areas to effectively prepare purchase requests in TRACKS, resolving questions regarding the encumbrance report so that all bills can be paid in a timely manner and travelling to other facilities that are facing staff shortages to help their warehouse operations to continue. I assist other staff by helping to locate approved and diverse vendors in DES State Contracts and with procurement staff and supervisors. Other responsibilities include knowledge of record retention and destruction following the state wide records retention schedule, compiling the destruction request and after approval relaying the completed form to all stakeholders involved.
Due to being the only staff left in the warehouse at MCCCW I was made temporary WO4 for the facility. I was not only responsible for all Warehouse Operator 2 duties, but also for reconciling the warehouse credit cards, receiving and entering qualifying items into the Capital Asset Management System (CAMS) and attending virtual meetings discussing facility logistic requirements and the implementation of new sustainable processes. Other duties included requesting quotes from qualifying DES contract vendors and using the obtained information in the creation of accurate purchase requests in TRACKS.
It was my duty to supervise up to 5 Incarcerated individuals (I/I's) while they filled clothing requests for other I/I's and pulled and delivered needed supplies to all 3 units. I was responsible for maintaining adequate stock levels and prepare purchase requests from approved vendor websites for procurement staff to order. My other duties included receiving and verifying order deliveries, entering orders into the Consumable Inventory System (CIS) and electronically send the receiving paperwork to Accounts Payable. Other responsibilities included finding and notating all locations for Capital Asset Management (CAMS) and relaying the information to procurement staff and Local Business Manager (LBM) for yearly inventory purposes.
My duties included unloading trucks and receiving merchandise from vendors. Checking the received items against a purchase order using a LRT reader (Laser Remote Terminal) and if needed contact the vendor with discrepancies or damage found in order to receive credit or replacements. I was responsible for entering purchase orders into the computer and filing the paperwork in chronological order. I also scheduled merchandise deliveries, propane fill-ups for store use and empty trailers for recycling. On occasion I would also stock merchandise on the sales floor and safely place heavy items in the racking using powered equipment. In addition I assisted in store inventories in the region and trained regional Loss Prevention personnel in receiving policies and practices.
