Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to hearing back from you.
Sincerely,
Marisa Ramsay, RN
I’m honored to share that on May 15, 2025 I will be employed with North Memorial Health for 25 Years! I’m currently an RN on the Crisis Intervention Unit. I’ve been here for 17 years! My role includes having a patient assignment on the step down unit, an intensive treatment unit assignment, or working as Charge Nurse. My roles include assessments, interventions, & managing the flow of the unit.
I started my career at North on the Trauma/Neuro unit back in 2000. When we needed assistance with an aggressive patient or visitor we would activate a Code Green. I noticed the staff that would assist from the psychiatric unit. Also after some of our patients were medically stable we would transfer them to psychiatry to address their mental health. I often was curious what working in Psych would be like.
I worked on Trauma/Neuro as a Nursing Assistant during College. I was honored to transition into an RN role on Trauma/Neuro through North’s New Grad program in 2003. Some of my roles included admitting patients from the ICU, assessments, interventions, transfers to rehab, and taking care of the post op patient. I went through more personal milestones of getting Married & having my first born Daughter. I was curious about other units of the Hospital & after 6 years on Trauma/Neuro I transferred to Women’s Care.
Women’s care included OB/GYN procedures, Antepartum, Mom/Baby postpartum overflow, & female medical over floor. We eventually merged with Pediatrics. North as a whole went through a re-aggregation process. I had asked myself which unit interests me? Psychiatry continued to interest me and there was an opening so I transferred in.
I feel I have a lot to offer an Emergency Department & I hope I’m the right fit for this position with North Memorial Maple Grove. My family & I live in St. Michael and this would bring me closer to Home. I grew up in Maple Grove & I would love to be back serving their community.
