Summary

I attended High School in Lusby, Maryland. My senior year I started working at Roy Rogers, a regional fast-food chain. This job introduced me to the routine and structure of being employed while managing my personal responsibilities. After graduation, I moved to New York where I was employed at a local state college while maintaining a full-time student status online. A.C.E.S. brought me into a more sophisticated role, as I was responsible for keeping student employees on track while monitoring stock and the flow of orders. When the school was not operating, the other generals and I were able to sign up for catering shifts which included weddings, and formal meals for alumni or businesses. I left A.C.E.S. to return to my home-town where I was then employed at Ridgell Oil, a local oil company that delivers home heating fuel above a full service gas station. I started downstairs, where I operated the station and assisted customers, and a month later I was able to work full-time in the office. There I progressed through the stages of training and over time was able to handle more responsibilities as well as more complicated tasks. With the skills I have acquired over the years I am now seeking employment in The Gulf Coast. I am interested in an office position as that is where I am the most comfortable and efficient. I am flexible with my time and I am a quick learner. I am looking for a full-time position at a location where I will be able to start a long-term career.

Dispatcher

Ridgell Oil
10.2024 - 02.2025
  • At Ridgell Oil I was dually trained to operate the full- service gas station downstairs as well as dispatch in the office
  • My responsibilities included pumping gas, handling cash, writing tickets for charge accounts, and working on filing for the office in my downtime
  • I counted the register and closed out sales at night before locking up
  • After becoming fully trained at the service station, in mid November I was transferred to the office full time
  • While working in the office, my main priority was answering incoming phone calls
  • Assisting customers on the phone entailed verifying their information, processing payments, updating correspondence notes, or simply answering questions
  • Most phone calls were for fuel delivery, and these orders could be valued over thousands of dollars
  • Verifying the ticket notes were correct for our drivers was essential as well as product and customer details
  • Most days, I was alone in the office for two to five hours
  • Time management was crucial as my duties of rolling sheets, verifying routes for the following day, resolving customer correspondences, as well as finalizing any sales must be completed before my day was over
  • Additionally, before I left I had to ensure phones were rolled, the safe was locked, and any important information was passed over to the opener for the following day
  • Other tasks I was able to complete included making delivery routes, printing and labeling tickets, verifying and entering checks from customers or government assistance programs, and verifying that the daily digital reports of delivered fuel matched the metered ticket amounts
