Structures and Mechanisms Test

Build test stands, data acquisition/motion control boxes for actuators, pressure panels, test setups for static load testing.

I have also been assigned to assist in a build of a new department for Hypervelocity Testing(Ballistics) will be operating a two stage light gas gun that can reach up to 15,000 mph and will be training all new techs.

• Assemble or modify actuators with QD fittings, o-rings, hydraulic manifolds, directional control valves, electric solenoid coils and test setups for static load testing with proper hydraulic hoses, flexlines, load cells and any proper plumbing.
• Pressure panel and hydraulic QD panel builds using P&ID's drawings,tube bending, flaring, cutting, fittings.
• Avionics Data acquisitions/motion control boxes for actuators and pin wire harness builds.
• Hydrostatic/Pneumatic pressure testing and setups using all proper plumbing flexlines, hardlines, pressure transducers and data acquisitions systems.
• Build/assemble test stands doing various metal fabrication, drill, tap, grind, cut, deburr, weld prep, minor welding.
• Strain gauge bonding and wire soldering.
• Forklift operations, Boom lift, scissor lift.
• On down time I support other departments like avionics test in assisting with test rack builds.
• Hyper velocity department build, pressure panels, hardline gas plumbing to gun, tool ordering, wire routing improvements.

Hydrostatic/Pneumatic Pressure Testing & Static Load

Performing variety of gas pressure/hydrostatic testing on high quality Diaphragm and PMD propellant fuel tanks COPV'S/pressure vessels.

• Perform various hydrostatic and pneumatic gas pressure testing for Proof, expulsion fuel efficiency, and leak checks
• Set up a variety of hydraulic/flex pressure lines, hardlines and calibrated measuring instruments including linear variable differential transducers, pressure transducers, flow meters, strain gauges, analog pressure gauges, load cells and data acquisition equipment.
• Record/Data input and calculations for all test procedures conformance to specifications.
• Work strongly with engineers and independent to complete and follow all manufacturing planning/process specifications with attention to detail for handling and executing test procedures.
• Set up and perform static load testing using manual and hydraulic actuators.
• Build/assemble test fixtures to engineer drawings metal fabrication and torque.
• Vacuum chamber operation and mass spec operation for helium leak check
• Basic Hydrostatic pump maintenance greasing and replacing o-rings
• Responsible for training all new employees oversee and help with all test executions and maintain test areas for 5s standards.
• Test improvement process.
• Vendor support and outsourcing.
• Forklift operations.

Filament Winding

Perform precision filament winding and handlayup with prepreg fiber on pressure vessels

• Work alongside with composites engineer/tech or independent and recommend on wind pattern angles that stay with in stress analysis tolerances.
• Following all manufacturing planning process specifications with attention to details and quality.
• select and cure appropriate programs for curing of COPV'S.
• Composite fabrications drill, sand, bond.

Perform many tasks from filament winding/machine maintenance/hydrostatic proof and leak testing,inventory control on production materials and overseeing team performance

• Perform filament winding,setup,resin mixing,oven curing applications according to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Perform hydrostatic testing and leak check on Copv's
• Supervised daily operations to ensure production targets are met efficiently.
• Trained and mentored team members on safety protocols and operational procedures.
• Applied strong leadership talents and problem-solving skills to maintain team efficiency and organize workflows by working side by side with technicians in operations.
• machine maintenance and repairs and trouble shooting winding machine and ovens, sensor replacement, hydraulic hose replacements, changing out hydraulic fluid.

Quality Assurance Inspector

Perform layout inspections to complete measurement of all dimensions according to approved engineering drawings and making sure all paperwork is being handled correctly and procedures are being followed.

• Perform dimensional measurements according to engineering drawings and verify they are with in tolerance using variety of calibrates measuring instruments such as calipers,micrometers,pi tapes,ruler scales depth gauges,height gauges,bore gauges
• Implemented corrective actions for non-conforming products, reducing the risk of customer dissatisfaction or returns.
• Finding the root cause of defective parts and materials.
• Discarded and rejected products, materials and equipment not conforming with specifications.
• Maintain quality inspector room clean and organized to 5s standards.
• Multitasking and time management.
• Collaborated with manufacturing team to ensure consistent quality standards across all products.

Filament winding

Performing variety of tasks from filament winding on mandrels operating cure ovens extracting cured composite parts as well as cutting cured composite parts to proper length and machining with 3 axis mill, honing,sand, adhesive bond

• Performing filament winding on fixed mandrels to working with varies of resins,hardeners,carbon fibers,glass fibers,teflon sheets, and calibrated tooling such as pi tapes,scales,calipers
• Selecting proper curing applications on ovens for curing process.
• Cutting cured composites parts to specification and engineering drawings.
• Operating 3 axis mill to specified dimensions,tolerances to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Operating forklift and multi tasking on down time through varies departments.
