I've worked mostly with John Deere tractor parts in different stages from building core boxes for the foundry and fixtures to eject cores from core boxes, to chipping and grinding as well as inspecting parts after they are chipped and ground to spec, removing excess sand from castings in shot blast in the foundry, machining raw castings on mills and lathes and performed drilling and tapping operations, used to load parts into the paint line masking off machines surfaces, assembly of various subassemblies, and welding on tractor cabs as well as street sweepers. I didn't finish my CNC schooling but I have a pretty good grasp of different machine processes and I pick things up fairly fast in that area from prior experience and eagerness to learn new things as well as improve on the things I already know. I work very well on my own but also do well in a team environment communicating efficiently with other members of the team to achieve our production goals. I am open to and enjoy learning new things, not necessarily limited to only metal fabrication. I'm hard working and seeking a stable employer that I can eventually retire from when the time comes.
Removing excess sand from raw castings on production line in a steel shot blast booth. Adhering to safety practices using proper PPE. I voluntarily quit this position to be rehired in a different building just after my father passed away, as he was a foundry retiree himself. Didn't leave the position because of the job itself or type of work, it just brought up too many memories for me at the time.
