Evaluate patients prior to surgery.

Provide patient and family education surrounding the procedure and peri-operative process.

Assume responsibility for patient preparation, including intravenous therapy, preoperative medications, and surgical site verification.

Participate in surgical site verification, including briefing, time out, debriefing, post anesthesia care unit, and universal protocols, according to hospital policy.

Be an integral member of a dynamic interdisciplinary team – consisting of the provider(s), surgeons, surgical technologists and more.

Consistently apply the nursing process, critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, technical skills and leadership to independently deliver safe nursing care to patients.

Assess patient condition, monitor throughout your shift, and document changes in patient condition along with the care provided thoroughly.

Educate patients and families/caregivers about the patient’s medical condition, treatment and follow-up measures.

Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS) bronchoscopy procedures, often serving in a circulator and/or technical assistance capacity as well as flexible bronchoscopies, room /cart set-up, preoperative and recovery processes in the post anesthesia care unit.

• My responsibilities as Emergency Department nurse is to coordinate total nursing care by assessing the patient, determining plan of care, participating in patient and family teaching and providing leadership by collaborating with ancillary nursing and other patient team staff. Secondly, specializing in assessing, intervening, and stabilizing a variety of trauma and illness with decisive actions. Lastly, providing urgent treatment and care using knowledge and skills obtained while working confidently in a fast paced environment.

• My responsibilities as a Licensed Practical Nurse: charge nurse included but not limited to attending staff meetings, supervising certified nurses assistants, medicare charting, rounds with physicians, ordering labs on residents, updating medical/treatment records both electronically and on paper, state survey participation, assessments on all patients, initial assessments on new patient admissions, communicating directly to administrator, physicians as well as all aspects of healthcare team including ST, OT, PT, Nursing staff, etc to ensure quality care to our residents in a timely manner. Also close monitoring of residents for any new changes in physical and/or cognitive changes as well as effectively communication with Medical Directer and carrying out treatment orders as received. medication/treatment nurse my responsibilities included accurate medication administration per state board of nursing guidelines per the six rights of safe medication/treatment delivery.
