  • Provided professional, efficient, responsive, fire protection services to the Redstone community, while maintaining a safe and secure environment for all personnel, under NFPA standards 1500, 1901, 1910, Army 420-1, and DODI 6055i. Acted as Station Captain while fulfilling the roles and duties of a Battalion Chief. Served as the Lead Program Manager over the Heavy Maintenance Program (GCSS Army), Small Engines, Ladder Testing, and Pump Testing. Oversaw $1M+ in Army and GSA owned equipment, ensuring operational readiness and compliance with safety standards. Other duties include tracking, through Emergency Reporting (ER), submission of hundreds of work orders, record keeping and scheduling. Quality Control (QC) all Heavy Maintenance reports on a weekly basis to ensure work orders are not overlooked. Submitted a quarterly report (ORFFA) to the Deputy and Fire Chief, stating the number of out of service days and the impact of the mission. Acted as Lead Instructor for the American Red Cross (ARC) and taught over 300 students from 2019 to 2024. Contributed to the NFPA 1500 Safety Committee, discussing near misses and mishaps in the department.   • Directed a team of 26 personnel in the role of Deputy Chief. Deployed to Saudi Arabia and UAE in support of Desert Shield/Desert Storm in 1997 and 2002. Deployed to Spangdahlem AB, Germany two times. Deployed to Moody AFB, GA, five times in support of their reduction in staffing and support of their aircraft. Received an award for rescuing the pilot of an A-10 aircraft from total loss of a fire in the cockpit and saving the aircraft from total loss. Volunteered for active duty in support of 9/11 for one year to enforce our mission of the nine assigned KC-135 aircraft at the Birmingham Air National Guard. While on the route for training, we assisted a volunteer department with an overturned car, with two personnel ejected from vehicles. Assisted in landing the Medic helicopter on I-65. These actions led to a quicker recovery and stabilization of both patients, due to the limited resources and staffing on scene. Attended Silver Flag training six times at Tyndall AFB, FL, in my 22-year career, to help with Assistant Chief and Emergency Operations Center (EOC) duties and responsibilities. Enrolled in Airmen Leadership School, (ALS) in 1998 and enrolled in Non-commissioned Officer (NCO) school in 2007, which assisted me in writing appraisals, counseling sessions with employees that I supervised. Implemented firefighter challenge course to enhance training and preparedness of new airmen at Firefighter Rescue Technical School, Goodfellow Air Force Base. Coordinated through the Alabama Fire College the use of their Live Fire Training Module/Trailer. Developed and maintained current annual counseling records of up to eight personnel. Provided discipline and guidance to personnel, ensuring adherence to regulations and fostering a compliant work environment. Wrote billet statements for appraisals for subordinates directly under my supervision. Provided customer service in a professional manner by written or oral communication, phone, and email.
