In my time at the Historical Bureau, contributing to historical marker program for the public has imprinted histories importance to me. Research Intern

  • Worked on the research and draft text for forthcoming replacement historical markers: Dr. John Shaw Billings, Sullivan County Carnegie Library, Major George Slaughter, and the National Road.
  • Expanded my technical knowledge of doing history with techniques like microfilm and database usage.
  • Participated in team meetings that updated on the progress of current markers and encouraged brainstorming to aid those markers.

Collections Intern

Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site

  • Assisted in updating the database of artifacts held at the site to ensure accurate information.
  • Aided the curator in categorizing photos, newspapers, and other historical artifacts held in the collection.
  • Interacted with the public through donations to the Site.
  • Interacted with other historical organizations in artifact loan and exchange programs, such as a dress of Caroline Harrison (Benjamin Harrison's wife) loaned to Florida.
